The school year is winding down and I can't believe it's almost over.  We have field day on Friday and the kiddos are so stinkin' excited!  I have some other fun news too, my cousin called to share some good news with me!  She was married last weekend on a beach in Hawaii.  Doesn't that just sound gorgeous??  I am playing around with some ideas for some Thank You cards for her to send out to guests when she's showered with gifts here in Colorado.  She is coming home from Hawaii for a visit in a few weeks and I'd love to have them ready for her when she gets here.

I used 3 Step Aloha and clear Detail Embossing Powder. I used step one of the leaf and just the word "Mahalo."  I LOVE the way it looks on Kraft Paper, but I'm thinking I might emboss the "Mahalo" in white to make it pop.  Thoughts?

Spring Fun!

Good Morning Sistahs!

    Boy oh boy has it been a busy weekend!  I finally graduated! The ceremony was this weekend and the weather was gorgeous!  This is a picture of my mom, my son, and myself at the Graduation BBQ.  (I'll post more photos soon.)

Today also marks the first day of my substitute teaching.  I'm subbing in the same class I student taught in in the fall because the teacher is going to have knee surgery.  Sooo...I decided to make a card for her to wish her well as she recovers.  (I'm also having the kids make cards for her too.)  Then when I visit her today after school, she'll have tons of fun cards ready to cheer her up.

I decided to use the 3 Step Daisy for her card along with Connie's Sketch from Friday: FSCC18.  I found some great papers from October Afternoon and decided to give mixing patterned paper a try.  I'm kinda fond of how it turned out. *grin

Good Morning Sistahs!

It's another beautiful day, and I couldn't wait to share today's post with you. As you know, I have been crazy busy with graduation preparations.  Can you believe they wanted $115.00 for 25 graduation announcements?  Egad!  Well, I decided to save myself a few hundred dollars and make them myself. Woo hoo!

In the midst of graduation stuff, I managed to ALMOST forget Mother's Day.  EEK!  Well, at my school, my kids have an elective every Friday.  They are usually broken up into 5 week sessions where teachers, parents and community members come to the school and teach the kids any number of things.  For example: Fishing, Running, Soccer, Bread making, Candy  making, Dance, and even card making.  Well, Friday was my day in a Potpourri Elective since I couldn't commit to a full 5 weeks, and we made Mother's Day Cards using Kitchen Sink Stamps.  I needed a design that was quick and easy so we would have enough time for 12 kids to make their cards. 

The kids absolutely LOVED the Kitchen Sink Stamps.  They were awed by the realism of the images and were excited about how easy they were to use.  (They were also sad that they only got to make one card. *giggle)  Here they are...stampin' and embellishing away.

What a happy Monday it is!

Good Morning Sistahs!

I apologize for my tardy post, but I wanted to let you know about all the exciting things going on in my life right now!  This past Friday I finally finished my coursework for my Bachelors Degree!  Woo Hoo!  I have been working part-time and going to school full-time for the past 4 years so that I may become a certified teacher. I never thought I'd make it here, and finally my time has come.  

So....today's post is a quick snapshot of the cards I made for the people in my cohort.  We started as a mighty 50 and we are graduating as the Sweet Sixteen!

I used the 3 Step Graduation set to create these 3x3 cards using our school colors; Blue & Gold. Step 1 - Night of Navy (stamped off), Step 2 - Night of Navy (stamped off), Step 3 - Night of Navy.  For the cord: Step 1 - Summer Sun, Step 2 - More Mustard.

For the letters I used 1/2 Pint Playful Alphabet Buddy and stamped UNC (University of Northern Colorado) In Night of Navy, and 2011 from the 3 Step Graduation set in More Mustard.

BOY OH BOY has it been quite a week!?!? And when I say BOY oh BOY...I mean it.  My best friend gave birth to her sweet baby boy Patrick last Wednesday.  I had the honor of being her birth coach again, although the last time we did this it was about 14 years ago.  As soon as I get a good photo I'll be sure to post it.

But now...it's time to get to the good stuff.  I again used Connie's sketch challenge FSCC14 to create a card for this week's post and this week's Everything PLUS challenge EP13.

I absolutely HAD to use my 3 Step Honey Bunny because SPRING is here and what better way to show it than with the cutie bunny?  Connie's sketch said she was hoping for a long/tall card, but I didn't have enough of my DP to create anything long, so this card measures 6" by 3".

The recipe used for the Bunny is: Step 1 - Creamy Caramel (Stamped off), Step 2 - Creamy Caramel, Step 3 - Close to Cocoa, Step 4 - Chocolate Chip

The grass recipe is: Step 1 - Certainly Celery, Step 2 - Kiwi Kiss, Step 3 - Garden Green.

Monday in the Kitchen

Good Morning Sistahs!

My name is Angela.....and I stamp out of order. *giggle  

I don't even know where to start about the past week...so I guess I'll start with the fun stuff.  So I took a 13 hour road trip to Arizona to hang out with my mom.  Then, I travelled on to California and hung out at Venice Beach for a few days.  Here's the best part....I got to finally meet Maria!  Yes, the Queen of the Kitchen!  

We had lunch on the beach and talked about stamps and giggled and were so excited to finally meet face to face.  We had to find someone to take our picture because the one we set with the timer came out like a big blur.  

Well, while we were talking, I had to confess to Maria that I have such a hard time stamping out of order.  I think things are supposed to happen in a particular order and stamping out of order is similar to me creating a 10 minute card...awkward. *giggle  But for this week's card, I decided to give it a try again and get a little crazy, and stamp out of order.  And guess what....I rather liked it.

Unfortunately I found myself in need of not 1, not 2, but 3 sympathy cards this week.  URGH.  So I got busy and created a few sympathy cards for my dear friends.  I find I don't usually have sympathy cards on hand, and I supposed it's because I don't ever want to have to use them.  But, they are necessary, so I figure now's a good time to stock up!  (Thanks Lisa!)

Late last night I returned from the blazing Arizona heat to a crazy snowstorm in Colorado.  EEK!  It was zero visibility for about 2 hours, and I'm so happy to be home, safe and sound....well...safe anyway. *giggle

SPRING has SPRUNG

Good Morning Sistahs!

I spent the better part of yesterday in a car traveling to Arizona.  Yeesh!  Today, I'm off to California.  But before I go, I wanted to share today's card with you.  

I used 3 Step Butterflies to create today's single-layer card.  Once I stamped the butterflies, I used my glue pen to add just a little extra glitter.  Oh, how I love glitter!

Good Morning Sistahs!

It is almost time for spring break, and I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am.  We're going to be going to Arizona and California to visit family. Yay!

For this week's card, I used another one of Lynn's Fabulous 10 Minute Challenge Cards.  I'm not sure how she comes up with all the quick ways to make cards, but she is certainly a Rock Star.  Here's my take on both her challenge and mine....

I used Multi Step Ducks & Pigs.  According to Lynn's directions, I stamped the ducks on the card itself first.  I actually stamped step 4 first, then went back to the first step, which in this case made it a little bit easier.  Here's the recipe: Step 4 - Memento - Sahara Sand, Step 1 - Memento Dandelion (Stamped off), Step 2 - Memento Dandelion (Stamped off), Step 3 - Memento Dandelion.  Sentiment: Memento Danube Blue

Let's Hear it For the Boy!

Today's card is part of the Everything PLUS The Kitchen Sink Challenge.  If you haven't had the chance to make it over to the KSS Forum, you MUST!  Everyday there's a new challenge waiting to inspire you.  I was actually inspired by a few challenges.  

EP08 - Let's Hear it For the Boy! : The challenge is to make a card for a BOY. (Or any other young man in your life.)

I usually am very afraid of using DP, but lately I've been trying to give it a try.  What do you think?  I loved the fun "boy" colors of this paper, so I figured it would be worth a shot to try creating a birthday card with it.

I used the Multi Step Gift set to stamp the present.  I used Bermuda Bay for all the steps and stamped it off every time except for Step 4.  For the ribbon on the gift I used Memento Tangelo stamping off each step except for the final one.  The sentiment is part of the 3 Step Baseball set and was stamped in PTI's Dark Chocolate.

Almost Paradise

Good Morning Sistahs!

It's March. And in Colorado, that can only mean one thing....it's Blizzard season.  It's actually snowing right now...and I'm hoping it leaves us alone soon...although the forecast is predicting a mix of rain or snow for the next three days.  EGAD!  So, in light of our recent weather, this week's Everything PLUS the Kitchen Sink challenge calls for you to create a TROPICAL card.  You know, one of those fantastically warm cards that make you feel like you might be on the beach somewhere surrounded by hibiscus and plumeria.  Ahhh....

 Here's my creation for EP07 using Connies FAB Sketch FSCC09

I felt so brave using two different types of DP that didn't match.  EEK!  I know...so wild aren't I?  

I stamped the pineapples from 3-Step Aloha using the following recipe:
Step 1 - Barely Banana, Step 2 - Summer Sun, Step 3 - Close to Cocoa
Step 1 - Certainly Celery, Step 2 - Wild Wasabi, Step 3 - Garden Green
